Outstanding Staff of the Summer
Melissa Parks: Program Coordinator of Swimming
This is only Melissa’s second year on staff at PFDC. You’d never know it by the way she so
aptly organized the swimming lessons, managed her staff and maintained the bathhouse, all
while teaching lessons and knowing something special about each of the campers throughout
the entire summer. No one has done a better job than Melissa when it came to balancing so
many things at once, including the rainiest summer ever in the history of the camp.
BRAVO, Melissa.

Outstanding Leader Recognition
Patrick McGoldrick: Program Coordinator of Project Soar
Four short years ago, Patrick expanded our already growing nature program into the 21st century.
He introduced our campers to orienteering, compass reading and geo-caching to name a few,
all while remaining true to ecological concerns. This year Patrick took on a new role as
Director of Project Soar and aptly managed this high intensity activity with a conscious
concern for overall safety of our campers all while they were having fun and daring
themselves to try something new & perhaps out of their comfort zone.

Dynamic Duo of the Summer
Lisa Hermann & Verity Sayles: TDM Co-Instructors
What is remarkable about both Lisa & Verity is the FACT that they
brought smiles to camp each and every day and maintained this enthusiasm for the entire 8 weeks.
The positive , upbeat attitudes were exemplified by creative closing ceremonies where the two
ladies watched their groups like proud parents

Rising Star
Katie Lizotte: Kidz Group Instructor, Administrative Assistant
Katie is one of our youngest staff members who showed great maturity beyond her years. Being
a co-instructor in our youngest age group, she created an atmosphere of order, all while
catering to the diverse interest levels of the campers. Additionally, she was able to switch
gears mid-summer to take on more duties in becoming the camps administrative assistant
without the slightest problem. Adaptability should be Katie’s middle name.

Most Consistent Attitude & Enthusiasm
Melissa Gorman: Creative Arts Co-Instructor
When you walk into the art barn you know you are about to relax
and have a good time. At times it’s difficult to find the “instructor’ as she is usually
seated at one of the tables right with the campers elbow deep in paint, and glue.
The glitter on her smiling face doesn’t seem to phase Melissa as it’s all part of her
genuinely happy nature and care she shows to all her campers.

Simply *Amazing* Can Fill Any Shoes
Jen Brogie: Barn Manager
Not often do you find such a strong work ethic in a teen, but Jen is the exception to every
rule. She takes her managerial duties seriously, maintaining order and direction in the
riding program which many adults would find daunting. Even while covered in daily grime,
Jen smiles and is able to stay on top of the care of the 32 camp horses, 3 barns,
30 stalls, and 12 acres of pastures alone!
